世界遺産「ローマ帝国の国境線」とは

「ローマ帝国の国境線」（Frontiers of the Roman Empire）は、ハドリアヌスの長城、ドイツのリーメス、およびアントニヌスの長城という3つの主要な遺跡群で構成される、ヨーロッパに広がる古代ローマ帝国の国境を示す世界遺産です。

登録時期:

「ローマ帝国の国境線」は、1987年に初めてユネスコの世界遺産リストに登録されました。この遺産は、古代ローマの国境防衛の複雑さと歴史的重要性を示すものとして認識されました。

登録範囲を2005年・2008年に拡張しています。

ハドリアヌスの長城（Hadrian's Wall）: 1987年登録

ブリタニア地域にある、約117キロメートルにわたる石壁で、紀元2世紀に建設されました。この壁はローマ帝国の北限を示し、イングランド北部に広がります。

リーメス（Limes）: 2005年拡張
